About the host Brigadier General (Retired) Robert G. Carmichael, Jr.
Rob Carmichael is the Chief Strategy Officer for Maine Savings Federal Credit Union, a full service financial institution in Hampden, Maine. He came to this position January 26, 2004 after 27 years of military service with the Army retiring as a Brigadier General. During his military service, Rob was a helicopter pilot flying the UH60 Blackhawk, and served in combat during the Grenada invasion in 1983 with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Rob graduated from Bucksport High School in 1975; He received an ROTC scholarship from the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. A Distinguished Military Graduate, he was commissioned a 2LT from the University of Maine in 1979. Rob received his MBA from Thomas College in 1995. He graduated from the U.S. Army War College in July 2003 and received a second Masters degree in Strategic Studies. Rob is a trained Organizational Development Consultant and certified Myers-Briggs trainer who has taught over 2500 students on Quality Management, Team building, Strategic Planning and Facilitation. He taught courses in Organizational Development, Total Quality Management (TQM), and Human Resource Management while an Adjunct Professor at Thomas College. Rob is designated a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR, SHRM-SCP). Rob is on several State and National Boards and Committees including: Mission Readiness Committee Member (Retired Generals and Admirals; Member, Maine Committee for Employer Support to the Guard and Reserve; Town of Bucksport former Council Member and current member of the Economic Development Committee; Credit Union National Association HR & Organizational Development Council.
